FIRST GENERATION: Charles E. Fishpaw 1891 – 1991

Elmer was born in Timonium, Maryland. He grew up as a Farmer and then became a Blacksmith, eventually a Plumber. He became a Master Plumber / Gasfitter and worked for Herbert W. Shipley Plumbing. He later joined the Plumbers & Gasfitters U.A. Local Union #48. He was a Foreman and worked for Lloyd E. Mitchell Company. Elmer continued to work in the field until he was 80. He was a member of the Union for 46 years until his passing in 1991.


SECOND GENERATION: Herbert L. Fishpaw 1931 – 2013

Herb was born in Pikesville, Maryland. He began his Plumbing career in 1950 as an apprentice in the Plumbers & Gasfitters U.A. Local Union #48. He became as Master Plumber / Gasfitter. He began his Naval career in 1951. He served 41 continuous years in the Naval Reserve and rose to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer of Command. In the Union he became the Training Director from 1971 to 1995. He was a member of the Union for 63 years until his passing in 2013.

Herb taught in the U.A. Instructor Training Program for Summer sessions from 1979 to 1989 at Purdue University & 1990 to 1995 at University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. From 1995 to 2002 he was a Technical Book Writer for the U.A.; writing training manuals to be used in the United States and Canada. He also served on the Maryland State Board of Education and the State & Baltimore County & City Councils on Vocational Education from 1972 to 1992. From 1991 to 1995 he was a 6-State American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA) Director. Herb also served on the Baltimore County Plumbing Board from 1991 to 2013.


THIRD GENERATION: Wayne A. Fishpaw

Wayne was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his Plumbing career in 1985 at the Poole & Kent Company. In 1987 he joined J. F. Fischer, Inc. and eventually became Chief Estimator. He served 6 years in the Naval Reserve 1984 – 1990. He is a Master Plumber / Gasfitter and Master HVACR. He is a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters U.A. Local Union #486. He served 5 years on the Maryland State Board of Plumbing, 1999 – 2004. Since the passing of PTT’s founder Herbert L. Fishpaw, he has been running the company with the help of his wife Michele L. Fishpaw.
